Editorial Policy
Independence. Rankings and scores on TelehealthIndex are produced by applying our published methodology to documented, checkable facts: regulatory records (FDA, FTC, DOJ, state attorneys general), company disclosures and SEC filings, published pricing, accreditation registries, and volume-weighted consumer-review data. Our methodology page describes every factor we evaluate and their order of importance. Commercial relationships are disclosed and are firewalled from scoring (see our Advertising Disclosure).
Sourcing. Every regulatory claim on this site links to its primary source — the FDA warning letter, the FTC order, the court filing. Where a fact could not be verified, we say so ("unknown," "reported," "unverified") rather than guess. Statistics from company materials are attributed as company-published; peer-reviewed findings are cited to the journal.
Freshness. Every page displays the date of the data it renders. We run a monthly regulatory sweep and a quarterly full re-verification of provider data; data older than 120 days is re-verified before republication. Ranking pages carry an update log.
Cautions and exclusions. A provider with an unresolved FDA warning letter is capped in our scoring and carries a visible Caution notice regardless of any commercial relationship. Companies we decline to rank — and the documented reasons — appear on our Watchlist page. We treat a warning letter as resolved only when the FDA posts a formal close-out letter, or the cited conduct has verifiably ceased and twelve months have passed without further FDA action.
Corrections. We correct errors promptly and visibly. Corrected pages carry a dated correction note. To report an error: corrections@telehealthindex.com. Providers may dispute a factual claim at the same address (subject "Provider Dispute"); disputes are resolved against primary sources, not provider marketing materials.
What we are not. TelehealthIndex is a consumer-research publication. We do not provide medical advice, and our scores are editorial opinions reflecting documented business practices, transparency, pricing, access, and nonclinical consumer-service factors — not clinical outcomes.
