Telehealth has become how millions of Americans get care — and choosing a provider has become genuinely hard. Most "best telehealth" lists online are pay-to-play: the companies at the top are the companies that paid the most. We built TelehealthIndex to be the opposite: a ratings site where the methodology is published, every regulatory claim is cited to a primary source, and money cannot move a score.
What we do
We evaluate US telehealth providers across seven categories — primary care, weight loss and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) programs, men's health, women's health, mental health, sexual health and sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing, and hair loss and dermatology — and score each one on the same 100-point rubric. The inputs are documented and checkable: FDA and FTC enforcement records, state and federal filings, published pricing, accreditation registries, clinician-model disclosures, and volume-weighted consumer-review data. We recompute continuously: a monthly regulatory sweep checks for new FDA warning letters, FTC actions, and litigation across every ranked provider, and a quarterly review re-verifies pricing, coverage, and service details. When something material changes, the affected rankings change with it. Providers we decline to rank — and the documented reasons why — are listed on our Watchlist.
How we stay independent
TelehealthIndex is reader-supported: some links on this site pay us a commission if you sign up (see our Advertising Disclosure). Three commitments keep that from mattering: compensation never influences a score, rank, or Caution notice; several of our top-rated providers pay us nothing at all and are featured identically — you'll see them labeled "No affiliate relationship"; and a provider with an unresolved FDA warning letter carries a visible Caution notice no matter what it might be worth to us commercially.
Who we are
TelehealthIndex is produced by the TelehealthIndex Editorial Team and operated by E2Q Enterprises, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company with a background in business advisory, commercial due diligence, and market research. We evaluate telehealth companies the way an acquirer would evaluate a business: on the record, against the documents. We are not clinicians, and nothing here is medical advice — our scores are editorial opinions reflecting documented business practices, transparency, pricing, access, and nonclinical consumer-service factors, not clinical outcomes.
